These experiences helped me understand how to assess and establish measures to improve patient-centered outcomes at Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH). From there, I worked as a clinical research coordinator for Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI), managing an individual pilot study and assisting on several research projects. In addition, I attended the University of Washington during my undergraduate career, receiving BAs in both psychology and communications in 2016. Born and raised in Everett, Washington, I have strong roots in the Pacific Northwest. Hello, everyone! I am ecstatic to be a student ambassador for the UW MHA program this academic year. Reflecting upon my prior work experience, I can safely say what I have learned thus far has been invaluable. Many of the decisions we must make in health care will require strong leadership abilities, and the UW MHA program appealed to me because of its strong focus on leadership. I eventually chose an MHA due to its strong focus on health care. I couldn’t help but think that I could improve the quality of life for the providers as well as the quality of care being delivered to our patients. The level of burnout and stress I witnessed was heart breaking and was my catalyst for pursuing a degree in health administration. The most significant experience was my time spent as a case manager for Kaiser Permanente’s behavioral health department. I then spent a year in Maine delivering in-home interventions to children and families who had suffered severe trauma. Upon graduating, I spent time in New Hampshire where I worked with autistic children.

I grew up in Honolulu and received my degree in psychology from Wheaton College in Massachusetts. Hello! I am excited to be a student ambassador for the UW MHA program.
